Megyn Kelly Dropped as Host for Sandy Hook Benefit
Without a doubt, Megyn Kelly’s star is shining brighter than ever before — and going quicker than perhaps anyone anticipated.
She’s getting invites to host various benefits, including one for Sandy Hook Promise, an organization promoting gun violence prevention, which started after the horrific incident at Sandy Hook Elementary school that left 20 first-graders and six adults dead.
Unfortunately the organization released a statement yesterday saying that Megyn was dropped as host, which is scheduled to be on June 14 in Washington D.C., due to her interview with Alex Jones, who believes Sandy Hook was a hoax and that it never happened (we’re not kidding).
“This decision was spurred by NBC’s planned broadcast of Kelly’s interview with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, who believes the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, CT, was a hoax,” the statement read. “Sandy Hook Promise cannot support the decision by Megyn or NBC to give any form of voice or platform to Alex Jones and have asked Megyn Kelly to step down as our Promise Champion Gala host. It is our hope that Megyn and NBC reconsider and not broadcast this interview.”
Megyn had tweeted a clip of her interview with Alex over the weekend, which is set to air June 18.
Alex later tweeted her asking for producers to cancel the airing of the interview, too.
Actually, in our sit-down @RealAlexJones describes self as a libertarian who “likes what republicans stand for” but has issues w/them 2. https://t.co/TWa6iDaiyi

Eeek, I guess this is a case of be careful who you interview. Who knows what guests Megyn has lined up in the future.
I’m calling for @megynkelly to cancel the airing of our interview for misrepresenting my views on Sandy Hook – https://t.co/TfLEPHEYrd
