Donald Trump has a special message to Americans: Stop hoarding groceries!

Due to the escalating response to the coronavirus pandemic, Trump spoke on Sunday to give the public a briefing.

“You don’t have to buy so much,” he said, responding to the fact that some grocery stores around the U.S. have seen crowds of people looking to grab as much as they can in case there’s an unexpected shutdown.

He added, “The stores are stocking up on a level that’s beyond Christmas time.”

Despite that government officials across the country say that important businesses and functions should and will remain open (i.e. grocery stores), they’re still recommending at least an arms length distance from people when you’re out in public.

So far, there have been about 179,000 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus worldwide — and about 7,000 deaths. About 3,900 are confirmed cases in the U.S. and 68 deaths.
