We’re so sad to report that Supergirl is coming to an end after six seasons.

Following the news of the series finale, leading actress Melissa Benoist paid tribute to her “iconic character” on Instagram.

Of course, the series follows Kara Zor-El (played by Melissa), who at 12 years old escaped the planet Krypton to find protection on Earth with the Danver family.

Kara is the cousin of Superman and hid her superpowers until she became an adult. The show itself explores Kara’s life in New York City as she is enlisted to help protect the city’s residents from danger.

We’re going to miss you, Kara.
