Jim Carrey Will Play Joe Biden in ‘SNL’ Season 46

We are so stoked to report that Jim Carrey is slated to play Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden for Season 46 of Saturday Night Live!

SNL creator Lorne Michaels opened up about casting Jim for the role.

“There was some interest on his part,” he told Vulture. “Then we responded, obviously, positively. But it came down to discussions about what the take was. He and Colin Jost had a bunch of talks. He and I as well. He will give the part energy and strength, and… hopefully it’s funny.”

Of course, Jim has hosted SNL three times and appeared in the 40th anniversary special in 2015. He famously auditioned to be a cast member on the 1980 to 1981 season of the sketch series, but he didn’t get the part.

Lorne also confirmed that Alec Baldwin will be back as President Donald Trump, and Maya Rudolph will return as Sen. Kamala Harris, Biden’s vice presidential candidate.

Jim and Maya together? That’s going to be gold!
