Inside Halle Berry’s Nearly $20M Offer From Netflix For Her Directorial Debut

Halle Berry is clearly excited for the release of her new film, Bruised, after receiving a massive offer from Netflix that left her “speechless.”

Variety reported that the streaming service is considering spending nearly $20 million for the worldwide distribution rights to the film, which is Halle’s directorial debut and is currently screening at the Toronto Film Festival.

Halle stars and directs the film about a washed-up MMA fighter struggling for redemption as both an athlete and a mother. She reportedly broke two ribs during filming.

“I didn’t want to stop because I had prepared for so long,” she said to Variety. “We had rehearsed; we were ready. So my mind, my director’s mind, was just — keep going. And I compartmentalized that, and I just kept going: ‘I’m not going to stop. I’ve come too far. I’m going to act as if this isn’t hurting. I’m going to will myself through it.’ And so we did.”

We can’t wait for this! Honestly? $20 million isn’t enough for this queen.
