The late Chadwick Boseman may have alluded to his cancer battle in a 2017 interview, which resurfaced over the weekend.

Matthew Jacobs of the Huffington Post tweeted a snippet of an interview he had done with the actor three years prior.

“You came off of one Black Panther project, did ‘Marshall’ and then made another Black Panther movie. Did you bulk up, slim down and then bulk up again,” he asked, to which Chadwick replied, “[Nods his head, looking exhausted] Right. Yeah, yeah, yeah.”

“You’ve been through the wringer,” the reporter said.

“Oh, you don’t even know [laughs],” Chadwick responded. “You have no idea. One day I’ll live to tell the story.”

It was on Friday that we learned the actor had passed away following a private four-year battle with colon cancer. He never spoke publicly about his battle.
