‘Sunset Stars’ Come After Chrissy Teigen’s Claims That They’re Not Real Agents

The ladies at the Oppenheim Group, the real estate company at the center of Netflix’s hit show Selling Sunset are defending themselves against Chrissy Teigen’s claims that they aren’t actually real estate agents.

Ons of the show’s stars, Heather Rae Young, recently fired back at Chrissy during a segment for KTLA 5. (See video below.)

“My response is I’ve had my real estate license since 2014. I’ve been with The Oppenheim Group since 2015. I sold my first house within three months of having my license,” Heather said. “It was a $7.2 million house. A week later, I sold a one-and-a-half million dollar condo. And you know, you can look up the proof. You can come to our office. Visit us. We’ve all been in the office for years and years and known each other for almost six years. So, you know, maybe because she doesn’t know us doesn’t mean we’re not real estate agents.”

Meanwhile, Oppenheim Group founder Jason Oppenheim released a statement of his own.

“Mary, Heather, Maya and Christine were licensed and successful real estate agents at The Oppenheim Group many years prior to filming our show,” he told Page Six. “Amanza worked with us as a designer, and has been a close friend of Mary’s and mine for many years. Chrishell was a practicing agent at another brokerage, many years previous to filming Selling Sunset.

“As a licensed agent, Davina had transacted many deals before joining the team in 2018,” he continued. “Any insinuation that the agents on our show are not experienced, successful, or licensed, evidences a complete disregard for the facts. Even a superficial investigation would identify previous team photos, hundreds of millions in transacted sales, and more than 50 years of combined licensed real estate experience from these agents.”

Mary Fitzgerald, another agent, also told Page Six:

“I mean, Tracy Tutor’s done the same thing from Million Dollar Listing. She’s been trying to hate on us, too. I’m like, ‘Well, I’m pretty sure because she showed some of my properties. I’ve shown some of hers. So I’m like, all right. Say what you want.’ So with Chrissy, I don’t — I absolutely love her. I’m sure she’ll see us around or she’ll end up wanting to buy one of our properties at some point soon.”

Dang! Well, all we can say is we hope they talk about this in a future episode!
