After making anti-Semitic remarks on an episode of his podcast, Cannon’s Class, ViacomCBS has fired Nick Cannon.

“ViacomCBS condemns bigotry of any kind and we categorically denounce all forms of anti-Semitism. We have spoken with Nick Cannon about an episode of his podcast ‘Cannon’s Class’ on YouTube, which promoted hateful speech and spread anti-Semitic conspiracy theories,” a spokeswoman for the company said.

“While we support ongoing education and dialogue in the fight against bigotry, we are deeply troubled that Nick has failed to acknowledge or apologize for perpetuating anti-Semitism, and we are terminating our relationship with him.”

Of course, ViacomCBS is the parent company of MTV and TeenNick. Nick previously served as chairman of TeenNick as well as host of MTV’s Wild ‘N Out.

The episode of Cannon’s Class in question has to do with an interview Nick did with Richard Griffin, known as Professor Griff.

Richard spoke about his dismissal from the hip-hop group Public Enemy in 1989 for saying “the Jews are wicked” and are responsible for “the majority of wickedness that goes on across the globe.”

“You’re speaking facts,” Nick agreed. “There’s no reason to be scared of anything when you’re speaking the truth.”

Nick later added that black people are “true Hebrews,” saying, “You can’t be anti-Semitic when we are the Semitic people. That’s our birthright. So if that’s truly our birthright, there’s no hate involved.”

Nick later took to social media to clarify his comments.

“Anyone who knows me knows that I have no hate in my heart nor malice intentions,” he tweeted. “I do not condone hate speech nor the spread of hateful rhetoric. We are living in a time when it is more important than ever to promote unity and understanding.”

Wow. Do you think CBS did the right thing?
