Eiffel Tower Reopens With New Safety Measures

Bonjour indeed!

The Eiffel Tower has reopened this morning after its longest-ever closure, marking a major step in France’s recovery from the pandemic.

The famous landmark has put strict safety and hygiene precautions in place for tourists planning to visit, according to NBC News.

Specifically, the elevators typically used to climb the tower within minutes will be off-limits to all visitors. Now, people who would like to go up the tower will have to climb the 674-step staircase.

Furthermore, visitors can climb no higher than the second floor of the tower, reports the outlet.

Not that we’d be able to visit France anytime soon since the borders have been closed in the U.S., but a little daydreaming won’t hurt anyone. Right?
