Hillary Clinton’s Subtle Trump Jab During a Virtual Commencement Speech

We’re loving all these 2020 commencement speeches, but one of our faves has to be Hillary Clinton’s, who gave sound advice when it comes to adulting.

“Thank people for what they do for you,” she said in her episode for the iHeartRadio podcast series, Commencement: Speeches for the Class of 2020.

“And send thank-you notes. Being polite is not the same as being politically correct so treat others as you would want to be treated. Learn how to sew on a button.”

If the Class of 2020 is “feeling overwhelmed by what you’ll be walking into, well, I’m a little familiar with that feeling,” she added. “My classmates and I didn’t trust the government, authority figures, or really anyone over 30. We were asking urgent questions about whether women, people of color, religious minorities, immigrants would ever be treated with dignity and respect.”

“We were protesting a president [Nixon] who thought he was above the law,” she said, before adding cheekily, “So, you know, a totally different world.”

Ha! Totally different right? God we love her.
