Mary-Kate Olsen Loses Her Request For Emergency Divorce

As we previously reported, Mary-Kate Olsen filed a request seeking an emergency divorce from husband Pierre Olivier Sarkozy.

Unfortunately, the request will not be going forward after a judge ruled that it wasn’t an essential matter.

The star filed the case this week claiming that Pierre was trying to kick her out of their apartment and force her to try to look for a new home during the pandemic.

But due to the ongoing crisis, the courts have been closed to all new non-emergency cases.

“This application is an emergency because my husband expects me to move out of our home on Monday, May 18, 2020 in the middle of New York City being on pause due to COVID-19,” her case said, according to People magazine.

“I am petrified that my husband is trying to deprive me of the home we have lived in and if he is successful, I will not only lose my home but I risk losing my personal property as well,” the papers went on.

The mogul also asked to be able to still use their Hamptons home, their Gramercy apartment, and another East 49th Street apartment.

It sounds like a very traumatic situation, which is no laughing matter. We hope things get settled swiftly.
