Man Arrested for Camping at Walt Disney World’s Discovery Island
A man was arrested this week for camping at Walt Disney World’s Discovery Island while the whole park is currently closed amid the pandemic.
According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Richard McGuire, 42, of Mobile, Alabama, made his way onto the island to camp for a week, USA Today reports.
CNN also reports that police spotted him and warned him through the island’s public address system that he was not allowed on the island. When he was arrested, the man claimed he never heard the warning.
Furthermore, the man also apparently claimed he thought he was exploring a “tropical paradise.”
Hm… well certainly it was a magical experience.
