Oh hell no!

In a new interview with Total Film magazine, Salma Hayek recalled times when directors told her to “sound dumber and speak faster.”

“Unfortunately, I never had a lot of chances to do parts where I could use a lot of the things I learned,” noted Salma, a legit trained actress. “I’ve had directors say to me, ‘Dumber and faster. Sound dumber and speak faster!’”

Of course, the Mexican born star first burst onto the scene in the country’s telenovella, Teresa. In the early 1990s, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting, but her lack of English made it hard.

Thankfully, in 1995, director Robert Rodriguez and his then-wife Elizabeth Avellan cast her in Desperado — alongside Antonio Banderas.

Salma is married to French billionaire François-Henri Pinault, so clearly she’s having the last laugh! You go, girl.
