Harry And Meghan Introduce Their New Foundation: Archewell

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced yesterday that they have plans to start a new nonprofit organization called Archewell.

As we previously reported, the couple recently moved to Los Angeles to start a new life after giving up their roles as working members of the royal family.

Now, they are very much looking forward to starting the work of the foundation.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the couple filed paperwork last month to create their own charity, volunteering service, and wide-ranging website.

Still, as for now, they are focusing on COVID-19 efforts.

“Like you, our focus is on supporting efforts to tackle the global Covid-19 pandemic but faced with this information coming to light, we felt compelled to share the story of how this came to be,” the couple said in a statement.

They also revealed that Arche, Greek for “sources of action,” was the inspiration behind the name of their 10-month-old son, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor.

“We connected to this concept for the charitable organisation we hoped to build one day, and it became the inspiration for our son’s name. To do something of meaning, to do something that matters,” the statement said.

“Archewell is a name that combines an ancient word for strength and action, and another that evokes the deep resources we each must draw upon. We look forward to launching Archewell when the time is right.”

Good for them!
