Marianne Faithfull is in the Hospital With COVID-19

We’re sad to report that Marianne Faithfull has been diagnosed with COVID-19 and is currently “barely able to speak” in the hospital.

According to Rolling Stone, the singer — who shot to fame when she was in a relationship with Mick Jagger — was hospitalized due to the virus. The Independent further reported that she has since developed pneumonia and can “barely speak and [has] no visitors.”

“She has withstood and survived so much in her life – including being Marianne Faithfull – that to be taken down by a virus would be such a tragedy,” her friend, performance artist Penny Arcade, wrote on social media, according to The Independent.

“She is stable and responding to treatment. We all wish her well and a full and speedy recovery,” Marianne’s rep said in a statement to Rolling Stone, adding that she “is being treated for COVID-19 in [a] hospital in London.”

We’re praying for you, Marianne.
