Rosie O’Donnell’s Live Show Raises $500K For The Actor’s Fund

Rosie O’Donnell’s one-night-only return proved incredibly successful!

The host raised over $500,000 in over three hours, with all proceeds going to the Actor’s Fund, which supports actors and everyone behind the scenes who are impacted by Broadway’s shutdown due to COVID-19.

Lin-Manuel Miranda, Patti LuPone, Billy Porter, Neil Patrick Harris, and Cynthia Erivo were just a few of the A-listers who appeared via webcam during the live YouTube show.

During the broadcast, Lin-Manuel Miranda gave an update on the In The Heights movie, saying, “We were literally recording the score when all of this started happening. There’s a lot that remains to be done on that movie. We were finishing the score and the mixing and just getting the music exactly right.”

Additionally, Patti LuPone treated the audience to two songs: “100 Years From Today” and the Nat King Cole classic “Smile.”

Audra McDonald and her husband also sang “Smile.” Kelli O’Hara almost sang “Smile,” too, but decided to do her backup, which was “Take Me to the World” from the musical Evening Primrose.

Basically, it was a night of talent. Check it out:
