Bloomberg Drops Out of 2020 Race, Then Endorses Biden

Mike Bloomberg has finally suspended his 2020 presidential campaign after spending more than $550 million. Now, the billionaire will endorse former Vice President Joe Biden.

“Three months ago, I entered the race for President to defeat Donald Trump. Today, I am leaving the race for the same reason: to defeat Donald Trump – because it is clear to me that staying in would make achieving that goal more difficult,” Bloomberg said in a statement. “I’ve always believed that defeating Donald Trump starts with uniting behind the candidate with the best shot to do it. After yesterday’s vote, it is clear that candidate is my friend and a great American, Joe Biden.”

Mike announced his long-shot presidential bid in November. The former New York City mayor was hoping to make a big splash on Super Tuesday, but failed to win in any of the 14 states who held their primary votes.

“We made our campaign slogan a clear, simple promise: Mike will get it done. And I intend to keep working on the ‘it,’” his statement read. “I will continue to work for sensible, common sense policy solutions that can get done.”

It was an interesting ride, but we’re happy to see that November is almost here.
