Gloria Steinem Says Jane Fonda Warned Her About Harvey Weinstein
Gloria Steinem is very happy to see Harvey Weinstein behind bars.
As she said to Page Six, “I think it’s clearly a relief to everyone. It wasn’t an easy trial as 90 percent of the cases weren’t part of the trial, so I suspect that it probably would not have happened 10 years ago.”
While she never met Harvey, she was still within his circle.
“There was a friend of mine who was trying to do a film, a civil rights film and everybody said to me, ‘Oh, only Harvey Weinstein will do this,’” she explained.
She also added that Jane Fonda warned her about Harvey, but didn’t expand on why: “She never said why,” Gloria said, “but I understood why it was not a good idea.”
“I found out about Harvey a year ago and I’m ashamed that I didn’t say anything right then,” Jane said in a 2017 interview with CNN. “I only met Harvey when I was old and Harvey goes for young because that’s more vulnerable.”
Wow… well, this is why women need to stick together. And for the record, we’re happy he’s behind bars, too.
