Pete Davidson and Kaia Gerber have been split up for nearly a month, and now the Saturday Night Live host is blaming his personal struggles for the root cause.

“She’s very young, and I’m f–king going through a lot and it was before I went to rehab,” Pete told Charlamagne Tha God in an interview posted on Monday.

As we previously reported, Pete spent time in a rehab facility in the past before dating Kaia (who is the daughter of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber) for about four months from October 2019 to January 2020.

“It’s just like, she should be having fun,” he added. “She shouldn’t have to worry about some dude that just has issues and s–t. She should be enjoying her work.”

Pete added: “It just wasn’t the right place or the right time at all.”

Well, at least he’s being mature about it — which is more than we can say for other men in Hollywood, right?
