Apparently, Amanda Bynes Can’t Get Married Without Her Mom’s Permission
Amanda Bynes recently announced that she got engaged! However, according to Us Weekly, she might need to wait until her mom Lynn, who is her conservator, approves.
In the past, the actress has battled with drug use and claimed she was bipolar. While she nearly came back into the spotlight in November 2018, she chose to check herself back into rehab.
“Amanda’s not currently working. She doesn’t have friends. And her relationship with her parents continues to be a roller coaster,” a source told Us Weekly.
Given that Lynn is her conservator, she has final say on many things in the star’s life.
“As Amanda’s conservator, her mother has responsibility over her daughter’s decision-making, including whether or not to allow her to marry,” Neama Rahmani, president of West Coast Trial Lawyers, explained to the outlet. “If Amanda’s parents did not consent to the marriage, they can petition the court to annul the marriage on the basis of Amanda’s ‘unsound mind.’”
Furthermore, her parents were not even surprised by the engagement.
Another source added, “Nothing Amanda does surprises them anymore.”
