Idina Menzel Never Showed up to a Special Broadway-Themed VIP Party
Idina Menzel decided not to show up to a Broadway-themed party thrown by Broadway producers Jordan Roth and Rick Miramontez at Hollywood hot spot Tramp Stamp Granny’s, which was supposedly centered around her.
Theater actresses Adrienne Warren and Ariana DeBose belted out a duet of her signature song from Rent, “Take Me or Leave Me,” as a tribute, according to Page Six.
Bar co-owner, actor Darren Criss, played the piano and introduced the song by saying, “Idina could walk through that door at any minute, so let’s hurry up and do this!”
Apparently, there was a running joke started by Page Six when the outlet reported that someone with the handle IHeartIdina97 (an “Idina Menzel superfan”) had posted the secret password for the party to a theater blog.
Idina then joked online that she hadn’t been invited. Eek! Oh well.
At least guests seemed to have had a good time!
