Serena Williams Will NOT Be Answering Questions About Friend Meghan Markle
Serena Williams isn’t about to comment on her friend Meghan Markle’s recent royal drama.
Over the weekend, the tennis star was asked about Meghan and Prince Harry’s decision to give up their royal titles. While Serena seemed to expect the question, she was not interested in answering it.
“Your good friend, Meghan Markle, who attended your last two slams, and Harry, have taken a move, a stance that many people think is extraordinary and historic. What are your feelings about that? Have you spoken to her?” a New York Times reporter asked her.
“Yeah, I have absolutely no comments on anything with that,” she replied. “But good try. You tried. You did good.”
Meghan and Serena first met at the 2010 Super Bowl in Miami, where they immediately hit it off, according to People.
In fact, Serena and her husband Alexis Ohanian attended their royal wedding. Not to mention, she helped with the planning of Meghan’s baby shower.
Good for her for not speaking out. That’s a good friend!
