Rod Stewart and his son, Sean, were charged with battery after they got in a fight with a hotel security guard at a New Year’s Eve party in Florida.

The alleged altercation happened around 11 p.m. when the 74-year-old rock star and his entourage, which included several children, were denied entry to a children’s area at the Breakers Resort in Palm Beach.

Who in their right mind would deny Rod Stewart entry is beyond us! Apparently, the security guard told police that Sean got “nose to nose” with him.

When the guard told Sean he need needed to back up to create some space, according to the police report, Sean responded by shoving the security guard backward.

That’s when Rod allegedly approached and threw a punch, striking the guard in his left rib cage.

The Palm Beach Post reports that two employees told authorities they saw Sean push the guard, and Rod Stewart punch the guard in the chest.

Video surveillance also showed the father-son duo to be the primary aggressors. Ouch!

Well… looks like we’ll be following this story for a while. Also, it looks like somebody (ahem, the security guard) might be getting a fat check from Sir Rod Stewart.
