Ed Sheeran Says He Lost Nearly 50 Pounds!

Ed Sheeran is taking his health seriously, and we’re so happy for him.

The singer revealed that he dropped about 50 pounds. He weighed about 15 or 16 stone (210 to 225 pounds) when he wrapped his two-year Divide tour over the summer — but now he weighs 12 stone (168 pounds).

Touring life can do that to you!

“It’s always America that gets me. America in buses,” he said in an interview on the British podcast Behind The Medal. “You finish a gig in America, you get a tray of chicken wings, sit in the back of the bus, watch The Simpsons, drink a couple bottles of wine, but then that’s every single day.”

The songwriter added that he never really enjoyed exercise until after he quit smoking.

“I didn’t even touch exercise for a very long time,” he explained. “I was really into sports as a kid and then started music and started smoking and then it all kind of went out the window.”

He added, “Then I stopped smoking three years ago and then ever since then [I] started exercising and now I love it.”

Ed says he does 45 minutes of running in the morning followed by swimming or sit-ups.

“There’s no way to check emails or watch TV shows,” he added about exercising. “You are either with someone talking or thinking and it’s a really good thing.”

Thanks for the inspiration, Ed! We’re definitely going to start applying this to our lives… after Christmas dinner that is.
