Jane Lynch Is Getting Hate For Saying Billionaires Have as Much Right to Choose Presidents as Waitresses

Jane Lynch isn’t having the best week.

The out lesbian actress weighed in on Pete Buttigieg’s controversial “wine cave” fundraiser that Elizabeth Warren dismissed at the Democratic debate on Thursday night.

“The mayor just recently had a fundraiser that was held in a wine cave full of crystals and served $900-a-bottle wine,” Elizabeth said at the debates, according to the Los Angeles Times. “Think about who comes to that. He had promised that every fundraiser he would do would be open-door, but this one was closed-door. We made the decision years ago that rich people in smoke-filled rooms would not pick the next president of the United States.”

Jane, who is a Pete supporter, gave Elizabeth a special message:

However, Jane’s message wasn’t well-received by everyone, and many were quick to defend’s Elizabeth’s criticism of Pete’s fundraiser at a winery in Napa Valley.

Well truth be told… fundraisers are fine and dandy. The real issue is when billionaires BUY presidents. Now that’s an issue worth discussing.

Jane, don’t you worry. We’re sure this vitriol will fizzle out.
