Here’s What Happened Behind the Scenes of Whoopi Goldberg and Meghan McCain’s Fight on ‘The View’
People are still talking about Whoopi Goldberg and Meghan McCain’s blow up on The View yesterday.
Well according to Page Six, producers had to quickly step in to calm things down after their argument got out of hand.
Following a segment on the impeachment hearings, the EGOT winner yelled to Meghan: “Girl! Please stop talking! Please stop talking right now!”
“No problem. I won’t talk for the rest of the show,” Meghan replied.
Whoopi responded, “I’m OK with that if you’re going to behave like this.”
But regardless of how it went down, they’re still professionals and understood they needed to get through.
“Everybody wants to have a good conversation. They don’t want to go to commercial exasperated,” an insider told Page Six. “Producers did come out and prep them for the next segment and explained, ‘We still have more show to do.’ One of the producers specifically talked to Meghan.”
Before she was cut off, Meghan had said, “I’m an ABC political analyst, along with being a View co-host. My job is to analyze the politics of it.”
“It was as if she was schooling them, so maybe [Whoopi] felt like that’s what she was trying to do,” an insider theorized. “Nobody sets out to be rude … it’s not the desired goal.”
