Well, according to Vogue, the Maldives had one of the highest trending searches on Google with an abnormally high traffic spike in 2019 compared to 2018.

The beautiful tropical isles of the Maldives are surrounded by crystal-clear waters. There has been a slew of high-profile luxury hotel openings on the Indian Ocean islands, like the St. Regis, the Waldorf Astoria, Six Senses, and Cheval Blanc.

According to the Maldives Times, 2017 saw 1.3 million visitors, up 8 percent since 2016.
