Simon Cowell is Creating a New TV Show in the Midst of ‘America’s Got Talent’ Crisis

America’s Got Talent is certainly under a huge microscope following the debacle over Gabrielle Union’s exit, which she alleges may be anchored in racism and misogyny.

However, none of this is stopping Simon Cowell from continuing his takeover of television.

Simon has been at auditions with Nicole Scherzinger. The two have teamed up for The X Factor: The Band, which aims to find the next big band.

Apparently, Simon’s behavior was reportedly at the center of the five-hour meeting that Gabrielle had with NBC execs last week following the backlash of her firing.

According to Deadline, sources say that a “great part” of the meeting revolved around Simon’s “acerbic behavior” and his “overlording.”

“The ball is in NBC’s court to see if they can get [Simon] to agree to make some changes to the way things are done on the show,” a source added.

Either way, Simon doesn’t seem to be getting much backlash — so long as the shows he produced bring in ratings, and they definitely are.

Most likely, his newest show will also bring in big numbers. We’ll be following what’s to come after Gabrielle’s meeting with NBC. Stay tuned!
