Eek… Gina Rodriguez Says The N-Word in Instagram Video, Then Apologizes

Jane the Virgin star Gina Rodriguez made a video of herself getting her makeup done, and in it, she says… the N-word.

But actually, the star was reciting the Fugees’ song, “Ready or Not,” when she said the slur: “Voodoo; I can do what you do, easy / Believe me, fronting n—-s give me heebie-jeebies,” she recited.

Of course, Twitter was quick to speak out about it.

As Page Six reports, one user wrote: “The fact that she thought this was fine and posted it is LAUGHABLE,” while another wrote, “The laugh at the end is ugly.”

There were even a few calling for her projects to be canceled.

“She’s working on a Disney+ show, we need to get that canceled before it gets started,” one wrote. Another chimed in, “Also Carmen San Diego, which I was going to watch season 2 of. Nope.”

Gina later took to Instagram to apologize, stating:

“I am sorry if I offended anyone by singing along to the Fugees, to a song I love that I grew up on. I love Lauryn Hill.”

Well! Clearly there’s a fine line between being a fan of a song with these types of lyrics and being a person with ill intentions, right?
