Everyone’s talking about Ronan Farrow’s book Catch and Kill, where he documents the systemic barriers sexual assault victims have been facing for decades — specifically how it relates to his groundbreaking report on Harvey Weinstein.

In the book, as described by People, Ronan reached out to Oscar winner Meryl Streep, who had worked with Harvey Weinstein. When he brought up that he wanted to talk to the actress about him, she gasped.

“But he supports such good causes,” she replied, according to Ronan. The journalist went on to write that Meryl knew Harvey “to be a bully in the edit room. But that was it.”

Later, Ronan said he believed she didn’t know about the allegations of Harvey’s sexual abuse towards other women.

Of course, at the time Meryl received a lot of heat over her kinship with Harvey, forcing her to release a statement:

“I didn’t know about these other offenses,” she said at the time. “I did not know about his financial settlements with actresses and colleagues; I did not know about his having meetings in his hotel room, his bathroom, or other inappropriate, coercive acts. And If everybody knew, I don’t believe that all the investigative reporters in the entertainment and the hard news media would have neglected for decades to write about it.”

This book is certainly a must-read, y’all!
