OMG! ‘Hunger Games’ Prequel Has A Cover And A Title Already

The highly anticipated prequel to Hunger Games officially has a name and cover, and we’re kinda exploding with joy right not!

As announced on Good Morning America, the upcoming book will be titled The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, and will serve as a precursor to the original dystopian series.

The book’s cover was also unveiled, and of course it features a golden mockingjay perched on a branch over a slithering reptile.

In a press release, Scholastic President Ellie Berger said the novel “raises important questions about authority, the use of violence, and the truth of human nature.”

Scholastic’s VP, David Levithan, added that the mockingjay’s “new angle” on the cover “is very much in line with the story that Suzanne Collins is telling.”

“With this book, I wanted to explore the state of nature, who we are, and what we perceive is required for our survival,” Suzanne previously said of the novel. “The reconstruction period 10 years after the war, commonly referred to as the Dark Days — as the country of Panem struggles back to its feet — provides fertile ground for characters to grapple with these questions and thereby define their views of humanity.”

So many clues… but what will it all mean? We guess we’ll have to wait and see!
