Here’s Why Joaquin Phoenix Literally Just Walked Out Of An Interview

Joaquin Phoenix is having none of it!

The actor walked out of an interview while promoting his upcoming thriller, Joker, after he was asked if the movie could potentially inspire violence.

The much-anticipated film delves into the mind of the Joker, one of Batman’s biggest enemies, and has been gaining rave reviews. But the movie has also earned some criticism for the violence it depicts — as well as the sympathy it shows to its main character.

In an interview with U.K.’s The Telegraph, journalist Robbie Collin asked the actor if he was worried the movie might “perversely end up inspiring exactly the kind of people it’s about, with potentially tragic results.”

“Why? Why would you…? No, no,” he said before leaving the room, according to Robbie.

The Telegraph later reported that Joaquin left the interview for an hour to talk to a press agent, then returned and explained he panicked because he did not consider the question.

Hmm… could this be another PR stunt (which he’s known to do)? We’ll let you be the judge.
