Ariana Grande recently apologized for a joke she made about JonBenét Ramsey, the 6-year-old beauty queen who was killed in 1996.

It all began when the singer’s friend, Doug Middlebrook, shared a photo of a report about JonBenét’s case with the caption, “No one has done more covers.”

Ariana then commented: “I cant WAIT for this to be your halloween look,” to which Doug wrote back, “working on it already.”

Fans weren’t pleased, calling her joke tone-deaf and disrespectful. But Ariana heard them and responded by deleting the comment.

“Yeah no i deleted it very quickly and understand that it’s not at all funny,” she wrote. “This was out of pocket and i sincerely apologize.”
