Rose McGowan Calls For Women To Stop Attacking One Another

Rose McGowan says that women typically don’t have each other’s back, but it’s not their fault. The activist argues that women are groomed by culture to be our own worst enemies, but that must end — now!

“It’s really hard,” she said to Page Six at Cannes Lions this week. “Women are trained to be their own worst enemies and others’ worst enemies. At the hands of women in my industry I’ve suffered a lot. They were the ones who set me up. They were the ones who said horrible, poisonous things that stuck in my head and had ill effects on my mind.”

Now, she’s encouraging women to gain power not only in their own lives, but to become titans for change across all industries.

“I think women are trained that there’s only one spot for you and everyone has to fight like crazy for that one spot,” she added, “but I always say that table that you want to sit at is an illusion anyway, so start your own table.”

Rose will soon release her first album, Planet 9, which she’ll perform at the 2019 Fringe Festival in August.

“That’s daunting, so why not go big and do it at the largest arts festival in the world,” she said during the chat. We can’t wait!
