Leaving E! Was The Best Thing Catt Sadler Could Have Done
It’s been over a year since Catt Sadler quit E! News after learning that they were paying her male counterpart twice her salary. Now, she says it was all worth it.
The former E! host told Page Six she’s finally starting to earn what she knows she deserves. Since leaving the show, Catt has been working on her own freelance projects and she has zero regrets about leaving.
“I took a leap of faith truly based on the principle of right from wrong and, of course, having to know — and by the way, it took a lot of soul searching — my worth,” she told Page Six. “I had to bet on myself. Can I go out and do other work and build and create … and continue to pay my bills and make what I should be making?”
Catt is currently developing a show for TNT, has a website and a YouTube channel, does one-off hosting gigs, and books public speaking work, among other projects, the outlet pointed out.
As far as her financial life? She says she’s finally at a spot where she’s satisfied.
“I feel that that’s almost been a reward in and of itself,” she explained. “Because we could be having a conversation a year and a half [after she left the network] and I’d had to move and I couldn’t pay my car payment. It could have gone the other direction, and let’s just say it hasn’t at all. I’m comfortable and I’m grateful, and I’m right on track financially with where I should be.”
