Mario Batali Will Face Charges For Alleged Groping Incident In Boston

Celebrity chef Mario Batali is being charged for a 2017 incident where he allegedly kissed and groped a woman inside a Boston restaurant. The woman shared her story after a slew of other women accused the chef of similar acts.

If convicted, Mario could face over two years in jail and would also have to register as a sex offender.

He will be arraigned on Friday morning on indecent assault and battery charges stemming from the incident, which happened in a restaurant in the Back Bay neighborhood of Boston.

According to the Boston Globe, the unidentified woman says that Mario forcibly kissed her, grabbed her chest and touched her groin after he noticed her taking a photo of him at the restaurant.

Before that, he was also accused of forcing himself on two women in separate incidents in New York City. At the time, he didn’t deny them and profusely apologized.
