Beloved Hollywood Icon Doris Day Is Dead At 97

Legendary film actress, Doris Day, has died at the age of 97. Around the world, fans and admirers are mourning the loss.

Known for her innocent sex appeal in the 1960s era of movies (especially in the hits Pillow Talk and Move Over, Darling), Doris was also a well-respected philanthropist.

It was the Doris Day Animal Foundation that confirmed her death, early Monday at her home in Carmel Valley, Calif. She was surrounded by close friends and “had been in excellent physical health for her age, until recently contracting a serious case of pneumonia,” the statement read.

The singer and actress remains one of the most popular screen actresses in history. Her wholesome blond beauty and affable smile made her a star.

We love you, Doris.
