Gayle King Allegedly Boots Norah O’Donnell Out Of ‘CBS This Morning’

Norah O’Donnell is gone from CBS This Morning! And allegedly, it’s thanks to Gayle King.

CBS sources told Page Six that the new anchor lineup for the hit morning show has been set and it does not include Norah because Gayle has demanded she be sent away. Say what?!

“Norah is toxic,” the insider said, adding that Norah is hard to handle and even fueled the rumors about the impending exit of Jeff Glor, anchor of CBS Evening News, because she supposedly wanted his job.

Gayle is fresh from her now-famous R. Kelly interview, which brought her a slew of new fans and a hell of a lot of respect in journalism circles. But she and Norah aren’t exactly best friends.

In fact, according to sources, Gayle demanded Norah be moved off the show as part of her recent contract negotiations — which Oprah helped her navigate, as we previously reported, though we don’t know if Oprah helped influence Norah’s exit.

The new lineup for CBS This Morning includes co-anchor Anthony Mason and CBS News correspondents Tony Dokoupil, a source shared, adding that Norah will continue to appear on 60 Minutes, and has been offered a “monster anchor” job, reports Page Six.

That new job includes a chief political anchor role at the network, in addition to a post as anchor of CBS Evening News.

As for the other CBS This Morning co-host Jeff Dickerson, he will move to 60 Minutes in a political role.
