Barbara Walters Threatened To Quit If Rosie O’Donnell Stayed On ‘The View’

You guys, the new tell-all book by Ramin Setoodeh, Ladies Who Punch: The Explosive Inside Story of ‘The View,’ is bringing out so much tea!

Apparently, the show’s creator, Barbara Walters, threatened to leave the daytime talk show because of her grievances with Rosie O’Donnell.

According to People, Ramin recalls in the book an instance where Barbara told ABC Daytime President Brian Frons that if ABC re-signs Rosie again, she and Bill Geddie (then-executive producer) were going to quit.

For those who need a refresher, Rosie joined The View in 2006 as a replacement for Star Jones. She soon clashed with Bill and other producers behind-the-scenes after she received negative backlash from viewers.

Rosie didn’t return the next season, but she did come back in 2014 — only after Barbara retired from the show.

That’s some hot tea, y’all!
