Dr. Dre Deletes Post About Daughter Getting Into USC Following Backlash

As previously reported, Dr. Dre posted a pic celebrating his daughter’s acceptance into USC. But then, news spread of his multimillion-dollar donation to the college in 2013, which prompted him to delete the post.

The music mogul’s daughter Truly Young, 18, had gotten into the University of Southern California. “My daughter got accepted into USC all on her own. No jail time!!!” he captioned the photo, referencing Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman’s contribution to the ongoing college admissions scandal.

But on Sunday, news surfaced that Dre and Beats Electronics’ co-founder Jimmy Iovine made a massive $70 million donation to USC six years ago, which kinda takes away a bit of the message he was going for in the original post.

Dre and Jimmy now have a building named after them — the USC Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy for Arts, Technology and the Business of Innovation.

Nice try, Dre.
