It’s been three years since news broke of Aquaman star Amber Heard’s alleged abuse by ex-husband Johnny Depp. Now, Johnny is suing her for $50 million for defamation.

“Ms. Heard is not a victim of domestic abuse, she is a perpetrator,” the suit cited reaction to an op-end the actress penned for The Washington Post in mid-December last year.

“I had the rare vantage point of seeing, in real time, how institutions protect men accused of abuse,” Amber wrote. “I spoke up against sexual violence — and faced our culture’s wrath. That has to change.”

The written piece never mentioned Johnny by name but clearly it didn’t have to.

“Mr. Depp never abused Ms. Heard,” the complaint from Johnny goes on to say. “Her allegations against him were false when they were made in 2016,” adding in reference to the claims that she made in the couple’s short-lived marriage, which ended with a restraining order against Johnny and later a $7 million settlement.

Amber is sticking to her guns, though.

“This frivolous action is just the latest of Johnny Depp’s repeated efforts to silence Amber Heard,” her attorney Eric M. George told Deadline. “She will not be silenced.”
