Is Brian Williams Coming Back To Network News?

Brian Williams might be coming back to TV in a big way, y’all. For those who don’t remember, the former NBC Nightly News anchor was fired in 2015 for admitting he embellished some stories with false details.

Still, according to Page Six, Brian has made MSNBC’s 11th Hour With Brian Williams show a legit hit, beating CNN and Fox News for three months straight. Now NBC insiders say he could move to a more prominent time slot, possibly replacing vet Chris Matthews at 7 p.m.

Multiple sources told Page Six that execs think Chris’s Hardball has gone soft, and they’re looking for relief from the bullpen.

Rumors also suggest that bosses are unimpressed with Chuck Todd’s Meet the Press spinoff, MTP Daily. Other theories suggest Brian could one day replace the hugely successful Morning Joe, should host and former pal Joe Scarborough revive his political career or exit for any reason.

However, sources from various networks all agreed that a Brian Williams return to one of the major evening news gigs is not true.

We guess only time will tell.
