Disney’s First Gay Character Doesn’t Say “Gay” In Historic Coming Out Scene

Disney’s first gay character is about to appear in the 2020 film Jungle Cruise, starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. But the thing is… he’s not allowed to say the word “gay.”

According to TMZ, a test screening of the film took place last week and sources who attended say Disney avoids using the word when Jack Whitehall’s character, McGregor, comes out. In the scene, McGregor has a heart-to-heart with The Rock’s character, Frank, about dating. That’s when he makes it clear he isn’t into ladies.

Sources say that McGregor talks about how his family tried arranging several marriages for him with different women, but he wasn’t interested in any of them because he’s not into women.

Who knows if the scene will make the final cut, but… it was apparently well-received by audiences despite the omition.
