Yep, Titanic II Is Setting Sail On The Open Seas. Would You Be A Passenger?

The tragedy of Titanic has lived on in TV and film, and now there’s an exact replica of the infamous ship (called Titanic II) that will be making its first voyage in 2022 where it will welcome the exact same number of passengers and crew — 2,400 passengers and 900 crew members, USA Today reported.

Of course, this time the ship will include an appropriate number of life boats, life-jackets, and plenty of modern safety features.

According to MSN, the Titanic II will first take a two-week trip from Dubai to Southampton, England, then will trace the original Titanic’s planned route from England to New York across the icy North Atlantic. Thereafter, it plans to offer worldwide cruises.

The building itself has been a process. The BBC reported in 2015 that the Blue Star Line halted work on the Titanic II because of financial disagreements, derailing plans for the ship to be ready in 2016.

The company announced in September it was continuing efforts to finish the Titanic II.  In total, the cost is $500 million to recreate, according to Bloomberg. Will you be down to sail?
