Geraldo Rivera is standing by his son, appearing in a Manhattan court this Friday. His son, Cruz Rivera, is accused of allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend and is currently attending a batterer’s program. 

Cruz took a plea deal in July for allegedly choking and biting his ex, Meghan Burke, during two separate occasions inside their Washington Heights apartment.

If he completes the program and stays out of trouble for a year, he’ll be able to bypass jail and a criminal record.
