Sally Field Speaks Out About The Death Of Her Ex-Love, Burt Reynolds

The world is continuing to mourn the death of beloved actor Burt Reynolds, who died yesterday unexpectedly at the age of 82.

“There are times in your life that are so indelible, they never fade away. They stay alive, even forty years later,” Sally told Page Six. “My years with Burt never leave my mind. He will be in my history and my heart, for as long as I live. Rest, Buddy.”

The two met while filming 1977’s Smokey and the Bandit and also dated for five years. Burt caused a bit of controversy when he said she was “7 when I fell in love with her. She stayed 7 for about 11 years,” which he said to Hoda Kotb. He later clarified: “I didn’t say 7. I said 37, I think.”

RIP Burt.
