JFK’s Nephew, Actor Christopher Lawford, Dies at 63

John F. Kennedy’s nephew died at 63. Actor Christopher Lawford, whose cousin is Kerry Kennedy (daughter of Robert F. Kennedy), reportedly passed away after having a medical emergency at an L.A. yoga studio, according to TMZ.

“We mourn the loss of my cousin Christopher Lawford, Rest in Peace,” Kerry Kennedy wrote along with photos of Christopher at the 2004 Democratic Convention with son David.

Lawford was best known for his acting career, with TV roles on shows including General Hospital, All My Children and Frasier, as well as film roles such as 2003’s Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.

Christopher grew up close to the immediate Kennedys and he once wrote of his LSD problem in his 2016 book, When Your Partner Has an Addiction: How Compassion Can Transform Your Relationship (And Heal You Both in the Process), “I had friends trying to get me to use LSD in seventh grade. I grew up with an ethic of trying to do good in the world, and I said no. Then my Uncle Bobby was shot. Next fall they asked me again and I said sure.”
