Patrick McEnroe Defends Serena Williams’s Sports Wear Outfit
After people came after Serena Williams outfit, calling it a catsuit, ESPN announcer Patrick McEnroe was having none of it. Then the Paris tournament decided to ban the one-pieces.
“I think it’s ridiculous. Let Serena wear what she wants,” he said. Fortunately, the US Open is much less strict. “This is a show here,” he said of the NYC tournament. “It’s not just about the tennis.”
He added, “There are always people coming to watch, [dressed] in full-on tennis attire. I’m like, ‘What are you doing? You’re going to go out there and play?’ If you go to a football game, are you going to wear your football uniform?’”
