According to new reports, NBC threatened to sue and smear Ronan Farrow’s name if he kept pushing the Harvey Weinstein story, which ultimately led to the #MeToo movement and changed Hollywood (and the world) forever.

Ronan was trying to get NBC to publish the Weinstein allegations, but ultimately ended up publishing the bombshell expose for The New Yorker after NBC deemed the story wasn’t ready to run.

Now, according to The Daily Beast, it’s revealed that NBC didn’t want Ronan to pursue the matter and had network general counsel Susan Weiner make a series of threatening phone calls to him.

“The assertion that NBC News tried to kill the Weinstein story while Ronan Farrow was at NBC News, or even more ludicrously, after he left NBC News, is an outright lie,” an NBC spokesperson said in a statement to The Post.
