Sting Calls World Leaders ‘Cowards’ For Neglecting Refugee Crisis
Sting spoke at an Amnesty International Event in Athens, Greece this weekend and took time to call world leaders “a sad parade of half-men and cowards” for their failure to solve the refugee crisis. He also called Donald Trump’s “zero tolerance” immigration policy “brutal” and “barbaric.”
“Thank God for Greece because you have shown the way,” he said. “You have shown how to treat refugees when other people are building walls. When children are being taken from their mothers and put in cages, you are acting with compassion.”
Last week, Trump signed an executive order ending his policy of separating migrant children from their parents caught trying to enter the US illegally. More than 2,000 children are reportedly still spread across the US and have yet to be reunited with their families.
